My Approach
In my practice, I am fascinated by the interplay between language and becoming. Are we just the stories we tell ourselves, or is there something more? I consider it an honor to sit with my client as we explore together the unknown of who they will become, breaking through versions of themselves that, for whatever reason, are not working for them, into a greater acceptance of what has been and a renewed curiosity of what can be.
Individuals
I work from a trauma-informed lens that frames my clients as blocked, not broken. I see my clients as collaborators in the art of healing. For me, therapy is about rekindling a connection to a person's own, inner therapist/healer, that intuitive part of themselves we all have. That part knows instinctively how to fully inhabit their authentic self.
Couples
I take particular joy in working with couples who are struggling to come to terms with destructive relationship patterns. The satisfaction of helping someone to see their partner as the key to their healing, rather than the cause of their pain is hard to put into words. Through our work together, clients have learned each other's steps and learned to dance together through life's challenges, rather than resorting to blaming and running away.
With somatic work, the energy of the body is readily available to explore and one can become truly present in a given moment. Your truest nature is energetic, creative, loving and open to life. The beauty of this modality is that one can access greater understanding about what makes you tick and opens up more choices about the life you want to create. The evolutionary techniques of somatic work allows me to guide my clients to having more energy flow in their bodies and to build greater awareness of how to use their energy. You will become more deeply aware of how you are affected in challenging situations, and will be empowered to make better choices for yourself.
Through the understanding of the defense systems that we use in difficult times, clients have the capacity to create true healing as well as love of self and others.
Virtual Sessions
There are many reasons to use virtual sessions these days. You need to travel and don’t want to miss your session, are working remotely, have a last-minute schedule change, childcare, have health or family issues that keep you at home, or you are not currently in NYC.
Virtual sessions are most effective in a private room, office, or car with a good Internet connection.
Many clients find telehealth easy, giving them more time and flexibility in their schedules. They don’t need to miss or skip sessions due to work, travel, traffic, or transportation delays. They feel more in control of the process and appreciate they can feel safe and secure in their own personal space.
How do tele health sessions work?
If we decide we are a good fit and you want to do an initial session, you will receive an email to my HIPPA-compliant link for our scheduled session. I usually send it the evening or morning before our session.
First, you will need a good and reliable Internet connection, especially if you are in a car or somewhere outside. Second, you can use a smartphone, desktop computer, laptop, or tablet with WiFi capability.
Third, please find a safe and secure space that is private and where you won’t be interrupted. Make sure that this place allows you to feel safe speaking freely. If the connection goes out for any reason, we can always switch to another platform or the phone.
Don’t worry if you are not tech savvy; I’m not, but I’ve figured it out. We can make it work together!
Also, all pets are welcome!
Let’s chat to see if I can help you.
What I offer:
For prospective clients, I offer a complementary 20-minute phone consultation. This way you can explore whether you feel comfortable with me and the way I work, and tell me a bit about what you are looking for.
If we feel that we are a good fit, we can then schedule a first session when convenient for you.
